Profile:

A native Texan, born and raised in Dallas, and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin (Hook’em horns!), Laneshia took a circuitous route to the practice of law. The year 2000 found Laneshia serving her state as a Texas State Trooper. By 2010, she was serving her country as a Federal Air Marshal. Her lifelong dream of becoming a licensed attorney was finally realized when she graduated from the University of North Texas at Dallas College of Law in May of 2021.

While in law school, Laneshia was heavily involved with the Joyce Ann Brown Innocence Clinic. This was a perfect fit for her because of her passion for advocating for the rights of the wrongfully convicted. Litigating and crafting successful routes to appeals feeds her legal soul.

In her spare time, Laneshia enjoys volunteering with organizations such as House of Renewed Hope, Miles of Freedom, and Unlocking Doors. She also enjoys serving as a judge in Moot Court competitions, reading mystery novels, and watching hidden gems on Netflix.
