Markuz was born in Wiesbaden, Germany and was raised on many military bases across the United States. While later serving on active duty in the United States Air Force himself, he worked as a Contract Specialist attached to the 92nd Mission Support Group at Fairchild Air Force base in Spokane, WA. While serving in the military, he attended American Military University and completed a degree in Legal Studies. After graduating in 2015, he decided to separate from the military and pursue law school. Markuz attended law school at the University of Texas School of Law.
While in law school, Markuz founded the Texas Law Veterans Association-an organization comprised of military veterans and those interested in pursuing a legal career in the military. He was also accepted into the Robert W. Calvert Inn of Court, graduated from the first Texas Law Leadership Academy, and frequently volunteered at the Austin Bar Association Pro Bono Veterans Clinic. Markuz began working with BAJB during the summer of 2016 and continued throughout law school. After graduating from the University of Texas School of Law and passing the Texas bar exam in 2019, he rejoined the BAJB team and started working as an associate attorney. Markuz currently represents both companies and individuals in complex litigation and business issues. His free time consists of spending time with his dog Luna, seeing live music with friends, and maintaining an active gym regimen to maintain balance in his life.
